Maggie's Story
Maggie Rudolph was a fun-loving person who always had a smile on her face and a funny story ready to share. She had a contagious energy that lifted everyone's spirits and made even the dullest of days feel brighter.
What also made her so special was her ability to connect with people. She had a heart full of compassion and was always surrounded by family and friends.
Maggie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. After a vicious fight, the cancer went into remission. However, it re-emerged in 2020 and spread to her liver, giving her only a very short time to live.
Maggie told her mother she feared people would forget her after her death. That's when her dad Ron came up with the idea to raise money in Maggie's honor. Maggie immediately pulled her note pad out and started planning the first annual golf outing. Per Maggie's wishes the money would be donated to breast cancer related causes and local charities. Thus, the Margaret M. Rudolph Trust was established in 2021 with the key fundraising event being the Maggie Strong Charitable Golf Outing.
Maggie passed away on March 12, 2021 at the age of 37, before she could participate in the first Maggie Strong Golf Outing. Even though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through the memories we share, and the uniting purpose of helping those in need.
Please help carry on Maggie’s wishes to find a cure and help individuals in the Rockford area battling cancer. While Maggie will be forever missed, with your help, her legacy will live on forever.
"Cancer is only going to be a chapter in a person's life, not the whole story."
